This course will help you understand and better safeguard against grooming, which is the precursor to most sexual abuse. You will gain knowledge, skills, competence and confidence to protect children and young people from grooming, both in-person and online.

Grooming happens before someone sexually abuses a child. Grooming is when someone builds a relationship, trust and emotional connection with a child or young person so they can manipulate and exploit to sexually abuse them. Grooming is involved in almost all cases of sexual abuse of children. The impact of child sexual abuse can be devastating and have long-term consequences on a child’s health and wellbeing.

As parents and community members we all have a role to play in preventing child sexual abuse and you can play your part by learning about grooming and how to prevent and intercept it.

Seminar is 2.5 hours includes a 10 minute break.
