Safeguarding and Child Protection for Parents and Carers

What can you do as a parent to help protect children from experiencing abuse in your family, community and the places they go? What do you do when a child discloses abuse to you or you are worried about any child, including your own?

What will I learn?

  • Things you can ask of the places your children go such as school and clubs to ensure you feel confident they are kept safe while they attend there.
  • What to say to your children and what actions to take if they disclose abuse or concerning behaviour to you.
  • Some of the signs in children and young people that something may be happening to them and what to do if you were worried.
  • Some of the behaviours in adults that are concerning and what you can do if you are worried.

Empower yourself with the knowledge to increase your child’s safety and the likelihood you will know what to do if ever needed.
