Recognising and Responding to Grooming

$50.00

Gaining an insight into grooming and the motivations to sexually abuse children will provide you with opportunities to prevent abuse from happening or interrupt harmful behaviour. This training is for anyone working with families, children and young people. The course will equip you with the ability to recognise and respond to the signs of grooming. Grooming is the process by which an adult prepares a child, significant others and the environment to enable sexual abuse of the child. Grooming is very often the precursor to sexual abuse. Through increasing our understanding of grooming we are better able to reduce opportunities for grooming and keep our children safe from sexual abuse.

“The course was easy to follow, used multiple forms of media and was targeted at the right level. It kept my interest all the way. It’s great being able to resume the course from where you have left off too.”

“It was invaluable! Seeing the things we do in our roles, it was a good exercise in not glossing over things. The line about ‘one piece of the puzzle’ really resonated.”

“I liked the way we were not under time pressure and could complete the sections when we had available time. I thought the topics were handled sensitively and that we were given good tools to cope with difficult situations, if they should ever arise.”

“The course was informative and gave you the right procedures to follow if you suspected a child was at risk.”

“I see this course as an absolute ‘must’ for anybody that works with or alongside children and colleagues who work with children.”

“This should be mandatory for all government workers, regardless of area of work; it’s so necessary for us to be aware of our expectations and the legalities surrounding child wellbeing.”

“Very well put together and easy to understand, I found the straightforward approach very hard on the emotions but necessary for the topics.”
