Here we are again. And another child killed as reported by this article in Stuff.
The health professionals, and others all reported their concerns to Oranga Tamariki. And yet the case was closed hastily.
This case highlights (along with all the others) a real need for training for ANYONE who works with or around children and young people on how to not only recognise the signs and indicators of child abuse and neglect, but then also what the next steps are.
When will things change?
How many will lose their lives while we wait?
Why are we carrying on with systems and processes that are clearly not working, and in fact adding to the risk and harm children in Aotearoa New Zealand experience?
Enough is enough.
