Press Pause is a website created to equip adults to respond effectively and support rangatahi who may have engaged in concerning sexualised behaviour. It is designed to grow confidence working with rangatahi by:
- Understanding common sexualised behaviours.
- Learning to recognise harm.
- Providing tools and resources to respond effectively, and have safe and supportive conversations.
Concerned about an adults behaviour?
If you are worried about an adult’s behaviour towards children who is working or volunteering for an organisation, you should report your concern to that organisations manager or principal and consider a report to the Police on 105.
If you are unsure about your own sexual thoughts or behaviour towards children or are concerned about the sexualised behaviour of someone you know, contact one of the agencies listed below depending on where you are located. All of these services provide non-judgemental advice and can help you navigate what needs to happen next. It is never too late for a person to change.
Stop
Stop provides whānau-centred support and therapy across the South Island to adults, adolescents and children who have engaged in, or are demonstrating, concerning or harmful sexual behaviour.
Wellstop
A community based organisation that aims to eliminate harmful sexual behaviour in communities across the lower North Island through positive choices, stronger whānau, and safer communities.
Safe Network
A charitable trust providing specialist services for concerning and harmful sexual behaviour towards or involving children and minors covering Auckland and upper North Island.
